Ken Wilber

ken wilber

Ken Wilber is a best selling author, philosopher, spiritual teacher, creator of the Integral "Theory of Everything" and founder of the Integral Institute in Boulder, Colorado. He is the author of several books including Sex, Ecology, Spirituality; The Spectrum of Consciousness; Up from Eden; A Theory of Everything; Grace and Grit; and most recently Integral Spirituality. The Spectrum of Consciousness, written when he was twenty-three years old, established him as perhaps the most comprehensive philosophical thinker of our times. Credited with developing a unified field theory of consciousness-a synthesis and interpretation of the world's great psychological, philosophical, and spiritual traditions-Ken Wilber is the most cogent and penetrating voice in the recent emergence of a uniquely American wisdom.

With twenty books on spirituality and science, and translations in twenty countries, Wilber is now the most translated academic author in the United States. For the fundamental and pioneering nature of his insights, he has been called "the Einstein of consciousness." Recently Bill Clinton and Al Gore have become fans of Ken's work in their efforts to describe a more integrated world and at the World Economic Forum in 2004 Clinton said "...that American philosopher Ken Wilber wrote a whole book called A Theory of Everything. He said, you know, the problem is the world needs to be more integrated but it requires a consciousness that's way up here, and an ability to see beyond the differences among us. So I worry about that."

In 2000 he founded the Integral Institute, a think-tank for studying issues of science and society in an integral way and his most recent book is Integral Spirituality: A Startling New Role for Religion in the Modern and Postmodern World (2006.)
